Watching the video, I truly feel proud from the bottom of my heart that I have the DNA of Stella Adler spirit. Also, this video is too good for words to describe. Up until today, I believe that we Japanese humanity have lost sight, or are facing a thick wall that we have never experienced before. In order to resolve this phase through art, I would like to share the spirit of Stella Adler with as many Japanese actors as possible, keeping in mind Adler's words, "Growth as an actor and growth as a human being are synonymous.

This is FANTASTIC! What a beautiful representation of how it feels to be supported as a student at this school with passionate, professional artists! I took Acting Technique and Scene Study this past year at the NYC campus, what a transformative experience and a dream come true! Can’t wait to return!

The question re the Classics is interesting too - with Odets and then shortly Arthur Miller, there will soon be American classics to do in the theatre!

Brando touts Stella Adler and pretty much rejects Strasberg’s approach. I recommend the recentish book ‘The Method’ - it’s fascinating and detailed about the beginnings of the group, Stanislavsky, the Moscow Theatre. It doesn’t do as well on the recent dudes (DeNiro, Pacino, etc.) but it covers the origins really well.

Brando even delivers his ‘I’m Marlon Brando’ line with full Brandoisms.

@45:40 this would be considered over-acting in today's Heroin-Fentanyl-Oxytocin world of 2024. And directors don't want this type of acting and it's a shame.

The young guy at 50:00 was interesting, but I was really wanting to hear him lower his voice and speak to him on a deeper level, rather than just yelling yelling and screaming. His body language was already aggressive, his voice need not be that too
